Should have taken a picture when I took the axle apart. Anyone have a picture of how this attaches? I see where, but no matter how I align it, it doesn't look right, or line up with the caliper hoses.
The bracket should attach to the side of the frame and the other end of the rubber hose attaches to the top of the differential with a hollow bolt that the differential vent tube attaches to. Hope that helps.
Yeah, this is on my 78 and I can see where it goes through the frame and into the distribution block. Just can't see how this bracket attaches to the front axle. There's a bolt on top of the axle that I assume this attaches to, but it just doesn't sit right on the axle. Looks out of place.
Ditto here is how mine was attached to my F150 1977 HP Dana 44. I agree though, it does still look out of place. I did not use it after I shortened the axle for my 66 Bronco. Used the 77 Bronco hose and brake lines instead.
I bet the tube-bending companies would like to see them all converted to that bracket!
The little pocket area around the bolt in the last pic (that should be a vent bolt on an EB axle at least) makes it very hard to get the passenger side hard line to align properly without a super tight kink right there. And some are worse than others...
Changing how ours bolt to the top of the housing to one of those offset brackets and the appropriate tubing would save some grief.
