With an uncut (74), what kinds of mods are needed with a 1" body lift?
What max size rims/ tires can be used?...any pics

For a 1" BL you should be able to get by with only adjusting the column shift linkage and possibly the clutch rod if you are manual. This is all I needed for my 73 automatic. Everything else worked out well even the fan shroud.

1' BL will not get you much over stock as far as bigger tires. 30x9.50x15 will fit nicely and maybe up to 33x9.50x15 with the right rim width and backspacing. But I'll let someone else give you the specs on that.

When I put a 1" BL on mine it had an NP435 trans. Now it has a C4. The only thing I had to do was lower the radiator fan shroud a tiny bit which was real easy. No other mods had to be done.

another pic

Heres one just sitting still Sorry its not a body lift but my opinion is a mild lift would be better then messing with shifter linkage and proportioning valve, im going through all that right now with another bronco.

we are thinking of doing this on my girlfriends bronco 73 auto, what has to be done to the column linkage? any other things that need to be modified, we are thinking this will be easier to get the height we want without suspension mods.
thanks

In my experience, clutch linkage (if manual) will need to be adjusted. The lowe steering shaft should be loosened at the rag-joint--the slip shaft can be "tapped with a hammer" to extend to the new-needed length and then reattached to the steering column. Also, I had just installed a steel Tom's Bronco parts radiator shroud, it needed to be clearanced a bit to keep from hitting the fan since it is effectively mounted to the body and thereby shifts position from the lift. My gas fillers were fine. Otherwise, its a simple operation. These other things I mentioned really arent a problem to address. I was amazed at the difference in the ride from the BL...I had no idea how bad my body mounts were...they were translating alot of noise and vibrations. Good luck.
