Running the engine with open headers is risky, even if you DON'T have fuel dripping out. I'd put some kind of pipe on there before running it again. Are you certain it's gas dripping? It should evaporate inside the cylinder coming thru the injector and never condense.

My vote is for a stuck open injector. It happened to me twice. Guess that is what I get for buying rebuild injectors from eBay.
If you disconnect the wire from the injector on the suspect cylinder and there is no sound/RPM change then it is most likely a stuck open injector. I have also been told that a stuck open injector can’t be fixed but a stuck closed one can be. Don’t know why but I replaced mine.
I had white smoke rolling out of one exhaust pipe with unspent fuel.

I've unstuck closed injectors on my engine & this one simply by grounding each bank of injectors to heat them up until the goo melts enough for them to open. Mine has been running fine now for ~14 years.

I've never seen a Ford injector stuck open.

How long did it run great?
did it run great cold and hot?

it was running good for a couple of days and then i went to start it this morning and i could smell gas dripping and i touched the header and it was cold on that cylinder even once it warmed up

could be stuck injector or loss of compression you should ohm out the injector if it high or low check the rest should be around the same if that one is way off then bingo you have a bad injector stock injectors should have around 11-18 ohms and please unhook the wires before checking don't know how many people I have seen try and ohm out something still hooked up.

sound like a dead cylinder start checking for bent valves possible rocker slipped off or rings are bad just my guess

Is this just an EFI to old engine swap? Or did you replace the cam and other valvetrain components too? If so, is it a roller or flat-tappet cam?

Check your injector harness, If you have a short to ground in the line it will hold the injector open.
