I am in the process of creating a stock plus type build and just acquired a set of stock rims. I see 10.5 wides on some stock set ups and currently my truck is running 12 inch wide KO2s on some aftermarket mags should I be buying skinnier tires or roll with the 33x12" wide tires? Feel like that might be pushing the safety or they might look weird with the side wall so concave. lmk your thoughts please

I'm a fan of running as narrow a rim as safely possible with tires, but that's too narrow in my opinion (assuming you're referring to a stock 5.5" rim).

33x12.50s look/work great on 8" rims. Some folks like 10" rims. I ran 12.50s for years on the 94-96 Ford forged Alcoas (7.5" wide) with great success.

Agree with ToddZ. You really have a 12.5 width, not 12. The tire is 7 inches wider than the wheel. 8 would be a good width, maybe even 7 might work ok.

Trail only, go for it.
Pavement, not going to be a good footprint on the ground.
I shouldn't comment too much, for the street I like about 2" less rim than tire. 12.50s on 10, 10.50s on 8s.

If you are still running stock steering linkage it also depends on how close the tie rod ends are to wiping your wheel weights off.

For mostly street and definitely with stock wheels I would run 33x10.50s. same diameter less rotating mass. I'm a big fan of narrower wheels, I can't stand 12.50 on 10in wide wheels and can't believe manufacturers say that is recommended. But I think 5.5 is too narrow for a 12.50
