The Bronco suppliers do not have the correct motor mounts for a '66 170 cu in engine. They sell a fine thread (nut not included) and what looks to be a 1/2" shaft that goes thru the frame. These appear to be for a Falcon or Mustang. Not a light duty truck

A proper motor mount for a 170 cu in engine for '66 is 3/4" shaft with course threads.

I'm not going to try any use the small shaft with fine threads, way to weak looking, plus it would be swimming around in the hole in the frame.

It's always something. Now I need to ship these back..................

Does anyone have any ideas on where to obtain the correct motor mounts?

Regards

Large thick washer and a new nut.

You will likely find that the single part has been commonized. Highly doubt the aftermarket will tool up 2 different part numbers when a single part will work for both. Stouter engines have stayed attached with less.

I guess you can keep an eye out for an old set of NOS motor mounts. Who knows, the local Ford dealer might still have some in inventory. Have you tried that yet?

I noticed the same thing when my new motor mounts came in the mail last week. I'm planning on changing to a fine thread nut and larger washer. The 170ci isn't exactly a torque monster so I'm not too worried about breaking these.
