Hello all,
What a fun truck. My 1966 is looking sharp and thanks to all who have been helping me, thank you! if it weren't covid i'd ask you all over for a burger! As i'm learning more about this little gem i'm coming across small items that i'd like to sort out. the engine starts and runs great, all cables work (heaters, throttle, choke, etc) and from what I see i have the correct and original throttle cable but... i am not sure if the choke cable is mounted correctly. it's attached to the bracket that mounts the throttle cable. I searched here, and the archive forums, but have only had luck locating one thread that showed pictures of the bracket but... looking closely i think it is for the V8:

I can make a mount like that which looks really good but would like to know how the choke cable is supposed to mount at the carb. Did I miss a forum somewhere here where there are pictures? Broncho tech, tech archives, FAQ... I think i'm having trouble searching and wonder if i'm doing something wrong.

Also, books... does someone offer a shop manual set? It looks like i'll need two books - but do they contain this sort of information? i've heard of body books, shop manual, preliminary shop manual... what would be considered a factory shop set?

thanks again in advance. Happy New Year 2021 everybody!

Here's a couple pics of my 66 carb/choke. Looks like a beautiful 66 from the pics in your garage! Mine is a Nov 65 build & no where near as nice looking as yours but it is an awesome driver.

Hi, the choke cable comes out on the left side and there is a clip on the inner fender. From there it makes a 90* bend and goes over the valve cover. I don't know if my carb is original. The outer cable straps onto a bracket on the air horn. Good luck

so it looks like the bracket shown in bajabrewer's is what is mounted to my throttle cable mount... a mount mounted to a mount... but at least it's there i can move it! What is the difference between Baja's mount and the one that Bronco Guru posted? I've seen both, is one "more" original than the other?

The one in my pics is an autolite 1100 & this is what came on the 66 170 Broncos. At some point(I'm not sure when) Ford switched to a Carter YF like in B RON COs Pic.

The 1100 was stock thru 67 since Ford used the Load-a-Matic distributor thru that year; they work in harmony with each other
