I noticed that yours doesn't have the windshield loop on the hood and the hood appears original. Do you have a picture of the inside/bottom of hood?

My 66 is the same way and doesn't have the 4 supports. I just assumed the hood had been replaced, after seeing yours I'm now wondering?? Hopefully someone can fill in the blanks.

Nice find.

There was the early hood with the 4 rods, then at least one more "66 style brace" hoods before the hoods with the two cross member version arrived. What was your build month? Seems like November/December was when the 4 rods disappeared. They all came with hood loops as long as it had vacuum wipers, so very early 69'.

Fine looking rig you got right there....

Code:

[/CODE]Well, another one found its way into my driveway but only after a long hunt, COVID restrictions and closed down DMV’s, title work issues and delays and finally shipper shortages. I’ve been running through the forum trying to collect as much history while filling in the blanks to an unfamiliar year Bronco (to me). I’ll post this up here for more insight as a collective mind is MUCH greater than mine;D.

This Bronco came out of the CO/NM boarder and was in a terra cotta barn for the last 32yrs. Before that, it was a ranch truck that was ordered with a bill head, full top, and only ONE bucket seat (VIN “698”). I would like to see who has a 66 VIN chart for all the options and if so, a count out here for anyone else that has a “698”. It looks like at one point a second seat was added but it’s hard to say since the vehicle turned into a parts truck over its hibernation. Luckily, it was still very much left intact. Any other cool 66 v8 history oddities are welcome. This was also ordered as a visor delete since there are no holes (just pilot dimples) and special order “D-code” Peacock Blue (thank you Todd Z. and Drew P.!!).

I have more questions than answers.

# 748250. You should already have it on your list.

Thanks.

Well, not a lot to report on progress other than locating some of the smaller year specific parts. The saddest news to report is that the "household" direction of which Bronco to restore, how to restore it (original/modified) and who will get to ride in it in the end has created a great divide.

With that said, this is my agreed upon attempt to sell. I am officially stepping away from this project but hope the next owner will give it the build it deserves...back to factory original. So I hope. If anyone out there is interested, PM me.
