1966 master cylinder brake line

Installed new master cylinder in 1966, it’s a single reservoir. There is no brake line seat in the master cylinder? I tighten the brake line nut, and the line leaks because it doesn’t have anything to seat against in the master cylinder. Took part back to store, and second version is identical. What am I missing? I don’t have original as reference, but line is original.

Pipe to flare adapter or see if one of he venders have something different. Consider upgrading to a tandem MC

I'm pretty sure those little deathtraps have 1/8-27 NPT outlet ports, so you could easily adapt to -03 AN or you might be able to find something to go to SAE inverted flare, but I haven't looked. FWIW, I hope this isn't a driver just for the sake of safety.

I drive a 66 single mc drums on both axles frequently with no issues
Adjusted properly and pay attention to the road and you won't have any issues. Are there better and safer braking systems out there, 100% absolutely no question.....nearly every vehicle made in the last 35years is safer than a 66-77 bronco so keep that in mind as well.

Thanks for the help. I normally live life on the edge, drive at a high rate of speed, with no cage, or seat belts. Remember, insurance is optional. #dontbeahater

If you are starting with nothing, why not step up to 1967 level and put in a dual circuit master cylinder?

Let’s continue...I have a spare MC that is a dual, for disc/drum. What proportioning valve is easiest? Will this work for drum/drum.
