In the first pictures, I couldn't see any fuel filler openings. I see them after the woody was removed. Where did he fill it before?

He had put it on propane. (it is a European thing....... Not for me only gasoline)

Great find and glad to see these are found across the pond... I am assuming in EU you have to run Amber turn signals in the rear. I wonder if you could take a later model taillight housing with reverse lights in it and change them to Amber And retire? My personal opinion of the Mercedes tail lights on it we'll they look like a big mole on a nose to me... Time to cut it off! Thanks for the welcome. Normally you would have to change the taillights but because it is considered a "oldtimer" If I keep the restoration 70% original(as it would be from factory) I receive a special license plate and my issuance and road tax is greatly reduced. also exempt from yearly inspections.

Got the frame and both axle housing back form sandblasting and powder coating.
Time to make a rolling chassis. Hopefully get started next week. I am doing something I said I would never do.... two builds at one time. As soon as I get the first build done I can dedicate all my time to the Bronco..

Had some rainy days here so I got to stay in and work on the front axle.
New seals & bearings, new u-joints, and installed a front disc brake conversion.
Hope to get it back on the frame this week, then onto the rear axle & brakes.

Well got the rear end done and got a chance to start building up the frame.
Got the rear end, springs & shocks installed and some other misc. little things. Now we'll head to the front.

Got a bit more done this weekend. Front end installed, test fitted the 23 gallon rear tank (waiting for paint to dry on the J hooks)
Will finish running brake line from rear to front this week (maybe tonight still)

Almost done the 1953 Restoration and have been able to make some progress on the Bronco. Here is a quick update:
motor completely rebuilt
new clutch
transmission & transfer rebuilt
rear driveshaft rebuilt
switched front shaft to Spicer (what a pain in the ass getting the correct yoke)
new alternator, starter, Pertronix
power steering kit

Couple more things this weekend then onto the sheet metal work.

Got time this past weekend (and help) to put the body back onto the frame. Decided better than my DIY frame jig. Now to start a plan on sheet metal work. Plan is to do front to A pillars. then the rest back.
Also got a chance to install the exhaust system from Shelton Manufacturing. It fit perfectly just had to take 2 inches out of one pipe end to move the muffler forward to fit the bracket nicely, Cannot wait to get to hear it.

Finally time for the sheet metal

Finally got to doing the sheet metal. Been a adventure finding some surprises and making some new parts, and massaging the panels I purchased. Here are some random photos.

Finally got the sheet metal done,
Did not like the plastic fan shroud (pop riveted together) so we made a new one.
Really pleases how it turned out
Now onto paint phase

2018 is off to a great start

We finally got too paint and am very pleased it.
