Patina? Lol
It was originally white or a really light yellow. Atleast that's what is under the green
I thought I was seeing "norway green" ........... guess not!

Making great progress, I've been doing a ton of wiring, and finishing up the motor install. Mini starter is in and wired, v8 radiator mounts are in with some modifications to gain some fan clearance, different distributor, manifold are on and etc.
Here's a vid from today when I finally got it started for the first time in 20 years and first time ever as a v8

Underside of that hood looks like Durango Tan, inner fenders not so much. You're making good progress! Welcome to the obsession...

Inner fenders and firewall I've painted. Here's a better pic of under the hood

BADCOMPANY . You may be past that steering column already . But I PUT IN Several 78 & 79 Bronco & F truck columns INTO my 72 Bronco .. Now these columns are tilt but not telescoping. But you can swap the wiring over & Have a tilt column.
The main problem with this swap is ... YOU Don't need to get into the Bronco & Pull yourself into the RIDE... I've broke that track 3 times . Now I want my column to raise up to the windshield .. But Mine actually drops between my knees .
But I do feel this is aneat swap for our BRONCO.
GOOD LUCK..

Thank you, I don't remember why I ended up not using the fullsize steering column but I believe it was simply not wanting to cut and move the mount and I didn't like how it looked. This wasn't a tilt column either, so I wasn't really gaining anything.

Been awhile since the last update but making a ton of progress. Pretty much been focusing on getting the Inside all finished. Got the roll cage in, decided against tieing it into the frame as the cage isn't gonna be permanent, it's my dad's old cage and just for use until I can buy/build one. Seats are mounted, thanks to James herrel for selling me them. Drivers side is mounted to foxbody sliders and passenger side is mounted straight to the cage. With the Seats, I decided to go ahead and get a quick release steering wheel to make it easier, nrg has a sweet bolt in release, with an mpi wheel. Once again james herrell helped out and donated the t-shift twin sticks since I already disassembled the t-case to remove the shift rods. I was running the stock np435 shifter bent up, but Travis hoover traded me the gear banger for a set of lift off hinges I had picked up for free. Once again pics aren't the best as I'm pretty much only working at night, but making great progress, hoping to start axles February-ish.

Been finishing up alot of small stuff, finally spent the last couple days on building the full width dana 44. 78 f150 axle, stripped all the way down, all nee seals and bearings. Yukon 4.56s and lock-rite. Lookin pretty good I think, now to start on the rear.

Anddd onto the suspension. Still have to build the 9" but can get the front suspension in. Moved the bronco onto my dad's cement pad in front the shop, which is the first time since I bought it it's been on solid ground. I had already started cutting the shock and coil buckets before I put the motor in, so it'd be easy to get them off, but I pulled the front suspension out and finished getting those brackets off today. I'll be running a set of ballistic fab adjustable coil buckets and wildhorses shock mounts. So stoked to get this bronco another step closer

Alot of progress in the past little bit, got the suspension almost done, still need to do shocks and mounts in the rear. Rear axle is a 9" out of a 79 bronco as well, 4.56 gears, 31 spline Detroit locker. Pretty simple swap in the rear, just had to cut the old perches off and set my pinion angle. Rear springs are toms offroad 5.5". So stoked with how it's coming together. Drove it for the first time in who knows how long, my dad knows it sat in the junkyard for 20+ years. Threw on my 36" super swampers and 15x8 slots and can't believe how good it looks.

First car show!! The place I work at (classic car restoration shop) hosted a car show today, so figured what a better way to show off my pos in a parking lot of beautiful restored cars. I trailered it up there and drove my 79 to have them both up there. Both did great, and got plentyyy of attention. The 68 always had someone taking pics and if I walked over I'd end up talking to people for an hour at a time. Pretty sure I ended up talking to 20 or 30 different people about the 68 and how much they couldn't believe a 16 year old built it in just around 6 months. Pretty sure I figured out a name for it too. I was telling the story of how when I found it there was a possum skeleton in the back, and someone goes "possum, that should be its name" . So everyone meet Possum.

With the name Possum, will you have some George Jones music on board?

George picked up the nickname Possum when this pic came out on the cover of his album "White Lightning". You can see the resemblance.
I guess im too young to have known about this, but definitely sounds good to me. Gives me a reason to finish up my stereo lol

Pretty much just been alot ot tedious work and finishing up alot of the dumb stuff I never got too. Lights, horn, signals, hazards etc... but finally took it down the highway and it did great. Drove straight and no death wobble or weird feelings. Need to get tags and insurance and start driving it. It's amazing looking back to August and seeing where it started at.

Well, thats a wrap on motor #1. Been on the road for about 2 weeks and having some great trips and some not so great trips. Between over heating, carb issues low oil pressure and now rod knocking when it's hot. Did everything I could to try and bandaid it enough for now and no luck. Motors coming out tomorrow after rod knocking and probably wiping the bearing. Main thought is, blown head gasket, causing over heating which eventually is thinning the oil enough making it knock and running the bottom end. Or it's separate problems, idk. Oil is pure metal flake after less then 30 mins of driving and is 20w-50
