Hey guys, JP here. New member and just acquired a new project - 1969 original 302 from DC. It's been sitting for awhile and needs some serious love. I'm in the Virginia Beach area and this is my first Bronco. I also have a 1963 F100 that I've had about 10 years which I'll throw in a photo of too.
Figured I would document my build somewhere if anyone is interested (also helps keep me sane and keep track of everything haha). The frame is nice and solid however the floor pans are gone, lower windshield bracket, and the inner section of the fenders in the engine bay. Rest of the body is in pretty decent shape all things considered. I really like the patina on the body so trying to straighten out as much as I can and then sand/clear coat just to do something a little different. We'll see though. I would really like to pull the body off and have the frame acid dipped and galvanized to have a nice base to never have to worry about again. Anywho, I'll post updates along the way. Cheers - JP

Welcome. Here to help whenever we can. You have found the single best forum on the internet. Great knowledge and everyone is friendly!
I just completely finished my resto of a 72. It is now a show queen. But if I had your rig, I would repair the floors and that windshield, get the engine and drivetrain to be very reliable, and keep that thing exactly the way it is. My next bronco will be one that looks just like yours. I'll make it run near perfect, but want the old patina, rust (where safety permits), and all the years just screaming from it as it drives down the street.

Awesome find!!!

Nice! Looks like you will be doing a lot of the same rust repairs that I did. Floors, cowls, windshield frame, etc. I'm 22 months into my '69 project, now approaching the finish line. Stay focused, and don't be afraid to ask questions, this forum has been invaluable for my Bronco. And having a build thread here is great.

Thanks for the warm welcome and helpful info already guys! @serial car restorer I just spent a good 1/2 hour looking through your build thread with a cup of coffee, super helpful as I start to make some decisions on the route for my rig. I appreciate you taking the time to make such a great thread and well done so far. @Torkman66 yeah I like that idea a lot. Your build is beautiful but I definitely understand the hesitance to now take it out and worry about rain, parking lots, etc haha. I had a G-body 911 for awhile that was a garage queen. Eventually decided to sell it because I realized my F100 was 1/15 the value of it and 10x the fun haha. Anyways here's the F100, my 1941 John Deere that my grandfather bought in the 50's (just finished restoring) and my daily driver. -JP
