1969 Ford Bronco U-15, lunar green, uncut rear quarters, original bench seat with bulkhead, solid body, 302 V8, 3 speed on column, runs drives good,
Looks to have had one respray in the original color, new tailgate, all other body panels look original, (I have the original tailgate. Has some rust along bottom).
Originally a 6 cyl truck, the V8 swap looks to have been done many years ago, (I do not have original engine).
I bought this Bronco early this summer because it was one of the most solid original trucks I've came across around the Illinois area. It was purchased near Owensboro Kentucky. My goal was to get it on the road while preserving the originality. I had the rear differential professionally rebuilt, 4:11 gears, the original bench seat has been recovered, It's in good shape, original bumpers,
As for rust, under the hood it has the usual inner fender rust on both sides, the original floors show some age with rust along the front toe board seams, someone in the past has tried to fill the gap with rubberized sealer of some kind, floors are still pretty solid, the only other rust on floor is some surface rust under the front floor mats and at the rear left corner of bed,( see pictures )
You can notice some filler work cracking out on drivers side of the very lower rear quarter behind the wheel,
Door posts, striker posts, and inner/outer rocker panels are in excellent shape. Upper quarter panel seams look great. Cowl area and window frame are in excellent condition. Doors, fenders, and grill areas have no rust.
Front left edge of the hood has some rust,
Dashpad has a some cracking but looks pretty decent, Dash is uncut with original AM radio, The dash has been repainted at some point and you can see a couple paint runs on it below ignition switch.
I believe the top is original to the bronco and is in pretty good shape. It has a couple paint runs that aren't too noticeable. The lift gate operates decent but rattles a bit while driving the country roads around here.
I have put maybe 1000 miles on the truck since summer while replacing some things here and there. It's a nice little driver that people can't help but notice on the road.
The worst part of the Bronco in my opinion is the way the V8 swap was done. The frame mounts seem too far back and have some ugly cutting and welding on them. ( see pictures )
A mechanic friend of mine inspected the mounts and told me they were solid enough for the time being,
Some new parts on it include:
Holley 600 cfm 4 barrel Carburetor, Oil pan, new tires, new tailgate (paint color is off a shade, but it's not extremely noticeable)
Fuel sending unit, fuel pump, ignition coil, points/condenser, plugs/wires, oil sending unit, temperature sending unit, refinished original steel wheels, new tires, new manual steering box, newer exhaust, side mirrors, starter, battery, etc.
All gauges and lights work properly,
I would say the paint is 6.5 out of 10 but it's not all scratched up or dented, I have not noticed any paint runs on the body, looks to be an older respray.
I will add some more photos as time allows,
My family has enjoyed this bronco but I'm moving on to other projects,
PM me with questions
