Some Id10t will buy that thing up and chop it up and put big tires on it, just to see if it will climb some rock that their fat butt could not climb on foot if his or her life depended on it, How many votes can we get to put that thing in some museum somewhere. I like it.

Gotta be kidding, that bronco is unreal! I'm thinking that someday I'll drive by some little old ladies garage and see one like this and she is overwhelmed that I offer her $5000.00 for it.

Sweet Bronco!

Is that all original paint? What happened to the rest of the Ranger stripes? I see the hood, but none on the body? I can not recall ever hearing of a Ranger stripe delete or even more specific a partial Ranger stripe delete option?

Maybe? FoMoCo did stranger things.

I'm just a little partial to the Ranger stripes! ;);D

Thanks for all the oooohs and ahhhs...

Personally, I would love to see this go to a collector. It really doesn't belong anywhere but a nice cozy garage. It is too nice to drive.

It is original paint, but I am not sure about the stripes but I'm no expert. It doesn't look like they were ever there. I can get him to snap a picture of the door jam sticker if that can provide any clues.

Since it is from out of state, you'd have to deal with California smog even if it was a 75.

?

I looked at CA smog laws and couldn't find anything about this. The only thing CA DMV says is 1975 and older vehicles are smog exempt, no other qualifiers...

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm

Could you point me at the law that says out of state would have to smogged? I thinking about getting one from AZ and that would change everything....Ive never heard that before...

Not sure if it changes by county but here in Kern at least, I just brought 4 vehicles into the state and was required to do zero smog checks on them. I did have to smog my 76 and later vehicles.

that is a sweet looking truck. i think it would bring $15-18k fairly easily. I do believe its been repainted at some point. No ranger stripes and the hood decals do not appear to be the original ranger decals. the ranger decal was wider than the one thats on the hood now. either way that truck is sweet and if i hadnt bought a turquoise 75 ranger in dallas last year i would be interested in yours

Good catch on the hood decal, it does look thinner.

I was going to reference a pic of the Ranger in the FAQ trim package thread, but it's hood stripe is incorrect as well! %). It appears that it may be painted on, or if it is a decal, it does not have the orange pinstripe on it.

I need to send Jon some pics I guess ;D

Here is a bird's eye view of the hood of our 77 Ranger that shows it fairly well.

This 76 is certainly a beauty weather it is original paint or not. And if the future owner decides they want authentic original stripes, I know where they can get a set ;)

Looks like I have a little research to do...I'll have to get with grandpa.

IF it was repainted, (which i still believe it wasn't) it was repainted by the previous owner before he bought it in 1985.

Also-

I have gotten a lot of "whats the lowest you will go?"

The answer is "depends on the highest you will pay".
