Hey everyone, new to this forum. Getting a ‘76 Bronco delivered tonight, she got rained on coming up the East Coast. She has been restored, should o be worried something got ruined? Radio? I know it won’t rust in one day? But what should I be looking for? Thx

Rained on, or rained in because there wasn't a top on it?
I wish it was just rained on. No top, rained in….

Dodged a bullet on that one!
But of course if it’s a floor mat that’s worse than carpet because it keeps water underneath.
If it’s covered in bedliner, that can be good, or it can indicate they covered up rust with it for a quick flip. Happens all the time.
If it’s just bare painted metal, you can see all the blemishes and know what you got.
But yes, either way you’re in good shape as far as the rain goes other than the rubber floormat scenario.

What are some of the specifics of your new purchase?
We love pictures here and love to see what people have, but more importantly perhaps we might be able to help see any problems you might encounter up front before you drive it too far.
I saw your other thread about the jammed door latch and that’s fairly common for two or three different reasons. But even if the vehicle was recently painted and rebuilt most don’t bother to replace the latches.
If they are new they probably just need adjusting. If they are old they probably need a good cleaning.
They only wear out occasionally, but they certainly get gooped up over 50 years or so.

Something else to think about is if it was in transit at the time. At 65 mph down the highway only the very back end gets wet. That’s providing the windshield is up, the wind isn’t crazy and you don’t stop. I drove through some pretty good thundershowers years age and didn’t get a bit wet.

Mine gets rained on/in whenever it rains here in so cal.never hurt anything. My stereo is in a tuffy console and if I know there's a big rain coming I put trash bags over the seats. Never had any issues with gauges or under dash electrical.

I wouldn't worry about any electronics in the bronco unless you have an aftermarket radio like the retrosound. I got caught in a major storm right after putting my retro sound in and during that rain storm water got somewhere and burnt the screen out on the radio, which I think is a replaceable item. The radio still seems to work but the display does not.

"Electronics" is a strong word for a Bronco... I've soaked everything behind the dash and the worst thing that happened was that I blew the fuse for the emergency flashers. Well I also destroyed an aftermarket radio that was installed in one of those housings that go under the dash. Apparently you should always add a drain hole in the back (filled up with water).

suck up everything with a shop vac without the filter in. suck up the seats if they are cloth. lift the floor mats and suck it dry underneath. worried about anything spray it with WD-40 and wipe it dry. main causes in Bronco rust is getting water underneath things trapped under plastics and allowed to sit and not dry out. Broncos were built with raw steel between the seams and pis-poor water absorbing seam sealer. seam sealer got old shrunk and cracked this allowed the water to get in the little crooks and cranny's absorb water and rust. same with dust and dirt inside the doors and fenders and the rocker panels. dirt gets trapped inside and absorbs moisture and starts rust.

Not an EB, but my wife's newest car was delivered on an open 8-car hauler transport covered in diesel oil blow-by...and I mean covered, so I'd be wary of open transports. There was a cherry older Mercedes 280SL convertible on the same trailer with the top down (apparently it was broken) and the interior was beyond ruined.

I have daily driven my 77 for the last 5 years. I do not have a top on it. When it rains here...i put a large trash bag over the seat. No problems yet
