It runs and drives!! John maxed out the suspension to get shock measurements and they are ordered. I think it's going to do okay as a crawler

Thank you! I hope it is as exciting to watch for others as has been for me. Taking this Bronco to John was absolutely the right move because his quality of work and I am extremely impressed the amount of progress made. My work schedule looks like 60+ hours/week right now so I'm very happy everything lined up and he was able to do this. More photos coming soon!

It's getting exhaust installed today:D

Thanks! I could see the potential in it with all the parts I had and with John's ability. I wish I could have done most of the work myself, but time just did not allow it and with the amount of hours I work there was no way. John has done a magnificent job and it was the right choice if I wanted to make it to OCBR this year! I cannot wait to see it Thursday when I get there to Hot Springs, AR for the event. I saw it last weekend but a lot has been done to it since then. He said it sounds pretty mean with the Flowmaster 40s.

The whole purpose of this build was fulfilled by it being ready for OCBR 2016 and allowing me to participate. I battled some problems as expected with taking a rig out for the first time. The brake cylinders were locked up on the rear brakes and I was still waiting on a rear drive shaft to show up. The drive shaft was supposed to arrive the week prior but there were delays so it was shipped to the park. The measurements taken for it were wrong so the new shaft was too long. Thankfully Monster Mike and Suzy Duff brought a spare that they let me use for the weekend. John changed the brake cylinders out for me as soon as I got to the park with them. I was having some problems keeping the temp down on the engine when going at a slow crawling pace so I stayed off the trails and enjoyed the rest of the weekend. I would take my wife and our two kids for rides around the park as this wasn't a problem for the engine and it would stay right at 190-200. Our two boys had just as much fun doing this. We changed the thermostat thinking it could be stuck open since coolant was circulating as soon as the engine was started, Okie4570 snapped a picture of the Huggins crew and I working on it.

So what's next? Figure out the temp problem (water pump is next) and get back up there to Hot Springs to see what the Bronco can do. I can say that the suspension is amazing and there is a huge difference with the Duff long travel arms on it. It also soaks up the bumps when flying down the dirt roads. I floated over some rough terrain going 35 mph that would have jolted me in a stock suspension.

Needs ele fan, Mine kept getting hot replaced thermostat...nope....replaced water pump....Nope....Figured out fan wasn't coming on, swapped some wires around put it on a direct switch and relay....only got to 190 once after that. I found the problem at the top of ultimate adventure which was a lose blade connector. But thats when Id had enough and connected it to a switch. Ill go back to letting Fitech control it now that I know the problem. After 9 OCBRs and 4 pre runs when it hot in June, Ive learned You gotta have that pusher fan up front, just not enough airflow with a stand alone mech fan.

Hey man glad you got it finished and enjoyed it just drivin around the park. Truck is just cool and love the patina and im guessing that your wife has taken a liking to it as well! Great job. Can't believe I lived that close to OCBR for years and never got there once. My truck was in pieces but the motivation would have been much higher with all the bronco brothers around I never new about.

Agreed on the electric fan. This was the hottest OCBR I can remember. My temps stayed around 190* on the morning runs and 210* in the afternoons. It's the first time I can ever remember my temps running over 200*.

It was good to see you got it together in time. Well kinda.... At least you got to run it around and the family got to enjoy it. It won't take long to get the little issues lined out. Let me know when you come back up and if I don't have mine torn down in prep for next year maybe I can meet you down there and see what it will do.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm going to keep going through a few things to make sure then install a 12" electric fan. I also want to remove the inner fenders and replace them with the Bilt Cool from Gordon Bailie for good measure. It was incredibly hot this year and sure enough Monday it was in the 70s. It won't be long and this will be ironed out and back at it. Cavin, will hit you up let's see about making a trip!
