Picked up a 84 Bronco with a 302. Plan is to replace the 302 in my 69 with the 84 engine.
I have the entire running 84 Bronco that I can keep as long as I need to for the swap, just going to scrap it after the swap (bad trans).

Question: How do I get the electronic ignition to work in the 69, the distributer has a 4 or 5 wire harness that goes to the ignition controler on the 84's fender well, that controler has several other harnesses going into it, What needs to be done to make it work? Would perfer to stay with electronic ignition if I could. Adapter kits avaialble??

Sounds like a Duraspark II ignition, and they are easily installed on an older engine.

Take everything out, including the harness between distributor and module. What color is the plastic tab on the ignition module that holds the wires down? This is the indicator as to what version of module you have. The most common that I have seen used is the blue tab module, and it has two pigtails, one with two wires and the other that connects to the distributor with 4.

There are a ton of wiring diagrams on here that will clearly depict how this needs to be wired back into your EB.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

If the distributor has 4 or 5 wires it does not sound like DSII. Could be one of the early EEC systems. Pics would help.
