I getting my Bronco next week and It has a 3 1/2 inch sus lift and I want to ditch th funky tires and rims(31's on 8 or 9" rims) that are on it now...
I need to know what size the stock rim (width) and back spacing ... as I would like to keep it uncut and run 33/10.50's or 33/9.50's and be able to still wheel it a little, also want to run aftermarket wheels .

Guess I need tto know is will and 7" aftermarket wheel work with the tires I mentioned above and not rub..
thanks , sorry to have rambled :)

Been there done that...

When I first got my EB a year ago I had the same set up and my fenders were uncut and rust free. The biggest tire I could possibly fit was a 31x10.5 with a 15x8 rim. That was it and the rear would rub on occasion. My advice is CUT'EM (front and rear) . It seems like you want to go bigger and bigger is better. If your not planning on selling you Bronco then who cares if the value may drop a bit. EB lovers don't build Eb's for resale value we build them because they are rare, they'll go anywhere, and just plain out bad. I cut my fenders right away when I got my EB and I ordered DUFF flares. With that and your 3.5 inch lift you could go to a 35x12.5 and a 10" rim. Since then I have put on a 5.5 inch WH kit with leaf packs and I am going to a 36x13.5x15 IROK. It all depends on how much your going to drop into your Bronco but if I were you i would cut my fenders and get you a good set of tires in a 33-35 range. A good friend of mine has a 3.5 inch suspension cut fenders and 33x13.5 swampers. It looks really nice. It's your ride do with it what you want.

Send pics.

I would sport 15x8 wheels with the tire option that you want to run. Uncuts are cool, but with wheeling you will see some rubbing. I think it would look sweet either way!!!!

There have been several threads on this topic...you can run your own search using the function above...I believe the consensus on it has been that unless you want to fold up the inside part of the fender lip to gain the extra half inch of clearance, that a 6 or 7 inch rim with 33X9.50s will fit with decent articulation. With the mentioned folding of the fender-lip you can probably get away with 10.50s with some minor rubbing. My understanding is that at full stuff, the rears will probably make contact no matter what you do. There are several members with uncut rigs who wheel as hard and as regularly as alot of the "wheelers" here, so if your not planning on crawling over rocks and doing anything extreme, you can probably run it uncut with aggressive, skinnier tires. There was a thread within the last week or so that discussed some of the more aggressive tread patterned tires for uncut trucks. You can search through some of the threads and posts and find the members who run uncuts, try contacting them to ask for their experience. In the end, its all up to you, but if you want a trail rig, buy an already uncut bronco; if you want a great cruiser and moderate wheeler and find an uncut one that you like keep it uncut/and moderately original. Good luck and post some pics.

I would not mind rolling the lip.. I would just kill me if the tire cought the fender and bent the hell out of it... I have done a few searches and have only found afew but do not show how much you can stuff a uncut with 33" and not rip up the fender... thats my concern... I did see 3 1/2 " with bfg AT 33/9.50 but they are on stock wheels !!
how wide is a stock wheel ? backspacing???

not to steal the thread, but what is the maximum you can get by with as a STOCK rig.
would 15x8's & 30x9.50's work? with proper BS on the rims of course.
i ask because i just picked up an AWESOME set of 70's slotted mags - 15x8 4'BS (like the stroppes) and i'd like to put them on my stock rig.

i was planning on running this same setup on my 77. using the stock steel wheels and a set of 33x9.5's that i have. the only downfall is bfg discontinued the 33x9.5's...still make the 33x10.5's but not the 9.5's :'(

If your getting aftermarket wheels you could go 16's with a 255-85 tire. You could run 285-75's but I think they are 11" wide. I would keep it uncut as long as you can, there aren't many left and they are sweet looking lifted IMO.

I don't mean to pump my ad :-X but... ebay #7966612671

I have a set of 4 15x7 polished aluminum wheels on ebay right now with 3.75" BS that would probably work good with a 9 or 10" wide tire.

I have 30 x 9.50's on stock rims and have a 3/4" of clearence to the lip with the tire stuffed. The lip would have to be rolled back to clear 10.50's, 8" rims no way,
