3 point seat belt anchor on role bar

What I need is a clean anchor point to bolt the shoulder harness guide to. I've seen a threaded insert to put in the back side of the role bar, that the harness guide bolt threads into after passing through the bar.. They have a shoulder that is contoured on the under side matching the radius of the bar. I also think they're welded in. I've been unable to find them again, but many of us with 3 point seat belts and role bars would like them.

I welded 3/8 barrel nuts in my cage for attatch points. First drilled a 3/8 hole all the way thru the bar. Then reamed out the interior side hole for a snug fit on the barrel nut. Next threaded a 3/8 grade 8 bolt into the barrel nut from the outside leaving the face af the barrel nut just above flush. Then welded up both sides. Before welding up the barrel nut thread another bolt in from the interior side to keep from messing up the threads.

the safest way to do it is to get a piece of tube that your 3/8 bolt goes through 1/8" min wall 1/2" longer then the roll bar tube dill a hole the size of the tube and weld both sides to the roll bar and bolt your seat belt with a grade 8 bolt and lock nut

This is what I did with a steel collar and heim bung as I didn't want to drill through my new powder coating. Both purchased off Amazon

Same here - I like the fact these are "alter-able" so I can find the best anchor location

Whatever you do, just don't locate the fastener in an area that's going to be occupied by your head while you're bouncing around!
Bad enough bonking it on the tubing. Not as nice when you have a bolt head adding a nice dent to yours. Your head that is....

Remos seems to be using the same bolt on collar I referenced in post #6. The shop performing my frame off restoration tells me they've used them before and they work well. The wall thickness, I'm told, is adequate to drill and thread 7/16-20. The anchor can also be welded on to the collar as Remos did. Before the 6 screws are tightened I can find the best location then clamp it down. The role bar padding tubes seem to have about the same OD so the collar will appear to fit in. Safety is a priority thus the 3 point. I need to sit in the seat to see what the specific needs are.

I did something similar recently, using tube clamps and shock tabs from Ballistic Fab. This is for the rear seat. I can adjust them as the kids grow.

A tab welded to the collar is an option I may use after establishing the best location for the anchor bolt. The tab itself would be a head injury hazard if place poorly. 7/16 is the standard diameter of seat belt anchor bolts in Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles for many years. I'm sure it's adequate and available in sets of OE replacements.

Not sure who's still looking for an answer here but this site says these 3-point belts will mount to an interior roll cage. Even a family-style cage. Anyone installed these belts before?

I've been using those belts from Toms. They've worked great.
The reason I did this was when I found that my 6' 5" son could put his face on the windshield with the seat all the way back and the lap belt on.
Bronco's original design has a lot of built-in hazards.
