I just got a 71, it has no lift, but has the rear fenders cut. i have to buy new tires and rims, and it looks like i should be able to put 33" tires on it. Does anybody currently run this set up? What size tires and rims do you use. What backspacing? Thanks for any help you can give a newbie.

I run 33s with a 3 1/2 inch lift , 15x8 wheels with 3 1/2 inch backspacing , I had to trim the bottom edges on the front of the fender . Mine did not rub unless I was turning and hit a big bump , i would say you would have to trim the front at least , not sure about the back ,

I would say the rule of thumb is 32 inch tires are the limit for stock suspensions , then again every Bronco is a little different

i know for a fact you can run 33x9.5 no lift and uncut. but i dont know about 12.5 that extra width make a big difference when you start to turn the tires. some co. make 33x10.5s they look pretty cool too and they might fit.

I have no suspension lift or body lift, but the body mounts and springs are in very good condition. I measure seven inches from the axle to frame at the front bump stop locations. I went with a pretty extreme cut for the Gorilla Warflares. I am running 33 X 12.5-15 BFG KM Mud Terrain tires on Eagle 058 eight inch polished aluminum wheels with 3.25 back spacing. I have no rubbing issues but it is pretty close.

Here is what it looks like

%) %) %) There is a very good chance you will rub hard if you go with 33-12:50X15 tires. I have done this with about 6 different bronco's and ALL would rub. I found they will work well with a 2" lift and a little trim of the front fender's. Also it will depend on the brand of tire as some arnt as tall as others up to 1" difference over all good luck with your choice. %) %) %) Bill :p  %)

Thanks for the definite answer to MY own 33'' no-lift dilemma. I just got rid of my 30x9.5's with my fingers crossed on stuffing 33's under her. Until your post, all I could get is a .........I think it will work.
Thanks
JohnM ;D
