Hey all, I've read that EB owners find a lack in performance with 35's and tend to prefer 33s on a 67. I like the look of the 35s a little better but I was wondering which lift kit you'd recommend for both options.

Thanks!

Also if I run a body lift, do I eliminate the original body mount rubbers?

33s let you flex out and clear with minimal issues. 35s tend to have a lot of interference with the body. Not height, for/aft clearance that isn't easy to just make fit. Watching a friend many years ago go from 33s to 35s. Had a nice lift and everything worked great with 33s. 35s ended up adding a body lift and some really tall bump stops in the back to keep the tires out of the body.

35s are also more leverage on the brakes. Long term add in some ball joint and wheel bearing loads.

You keep the rubbers and the body lift is just a spacer, unless you get the extended height body mounts (body lift built into the body mount)

I have run 35s since 1996, before that I ran 33s. My Bronco has a 3 1/2" SL with a 2" BL The 35s are on 8" wide rims which for me has kept the tires out of the body, also careful rear flare placement when I installed those. I have taller bump stops all around, however that is for keeping the shocks from being over compressed on up travel in the front (1/2" less), and in the back more to keep the springs healthy at full stuff. When I ran 33s with 10" wide rims, (no BL), I broke three out of four flares the first trip out. Wheel width and backspacing is part of the equation. I don't have a loss of performance as the gearing in the diffs has been changed (other mods too). I consider my Bronco a street and trail rig. There are some amazing builds out there, and technology is always changing. My setup works very well for how I use my Bronco, however some would not like it. Keep gathering information, you will know what is right for you, and have fun with your Bronco.

I run a Wildhorses Premium 3.5" lift with Bilstein Shocks, and a 1" body lift. I have 35"x 12.50x15" BFG Mud Terrains on a 15" x 10" wide wheel on my 1967 bronco with a 289. I have fiberglass flares. My set up works well on and off road. I have had issues with the tires hitting the flares at full stuff, but have trimmed them back so it is rarely an issue anymore. I also have a dana 44 front axle with power disk brakes and a big bearing rear axle. My axle gears are too high, on the street its a bit of a dog and off road I typically wheel with the transfercase in low range. But I also have an NP-435 trans with the super low 1st gear so I can still crawl pretty well. I never felt under geared off road but I am not doing black trails!

I ran 33s for years on this bronco and will say they did good on and off road and no body lift needed. Stock axles and brakes. For a classic bronco look and if you dont want to go heavy on the mods and are not going to wheel it 33s are the way to go. Street freindly with a clean look. I think I have build at least4-5 broncos with 33s most of them ran a 3.5" lift one 2.5" and one was stock with just cut fenders. What ever lift you get, get the most complete lift you can, I mean everything. Bolts, Ubolts, springs, bushings shocks, shock boots, spring mounting plates, brake lines. I have run 3-4 different lift kits on my broncos, and the Wildhorses is by far the best riding one I have had.

match your gear ratio to your tire. And to your motor. I6 usually need more gear (higher numerical)

Is the Dana 44 longer than the stock axles? What did they come out of?
