As stated in an earlier post, I am installing a 351 EFI in my bronco. The engine is from a 2 wheel drive 1990 F-250. My next question is.... Can I convert the ac compressor to an on-board air compressor? If not, what can I do if I remove the compressor ? Is there some kind of air conditioning delete type pulley I can install to retain the original belt length? What are my options? Thanks TOR

CoBlu comes through! Dude, the link from summit is exactly what I am looking for. The other option looked way too expensive and time consuming for me.Thanks again.TOR

TOR, there's no reason to spend a bunch of $$ on making that AC compressor work great for OBA. I've done it a bunch of times.

The cheapest/easiest way to do it is to go to the local auto parts store and buy one of the $50 air compressors they have on sale. Then rob the air switch, tank, etc... and convert them for use with the AC compressor.

If you need some more info shoot me a PM.

I just converted mine over the weekend.
Cost was about $75
Pressure switch $40
Blow off $ 10
Brass Tee $3
Nipples & miss fittings $5
Oil/water separator $10
inlet filter - borrowed from my other Bronco.

I do not use a tank just straight off the compressor, gets the job done.

If your just using it to air up tires go real cheap and just skip the pressure switch put a simple on off toggle to start it up. Just make sure you have a good blow off valve or possible 2 just for back up. My two gallon tank takes about 15 secs to fill up to 115 lbs where the blow valve blows. Its a bit annoying listening to it blow when your moving around from tire to tire, but it fills the tires just fine and plenty fast. I air up from 10-12lbs to 30lbs in about 5-7 minutes all four tires. Plus its great for scarring the heck out of unsuspecting people standing next to your rig.
