Well - 4-5 years ago a friend pulled out a running 351w with 150,000 miles or so ; complete with everything but the computer . I paid $50 for it. After getting tired of tripping over it for a year in my garage floor another friend had a more urgent use for it so I sold it to him for I believe $35 . I figured I'd keep in step with my 401K .
Now I'm not saying they should sell for that cheap - just in my local area we have a " Bronco Brother Hood Community" where we usually try to help each other out with projects . Of course there is always the occasional indiscretion or out right "what the Hell " .

Around here (SW VA, NE TN) they go for $400-500 if they are complete with all fuels injection components and accessories. I gave about that for mine and it was complete.
OK, thanks for the input. A guy down the road heard I may be looking and stopped by. He wants $500 for it and I told him I really only wanted the block and heads. I am not going FI. Seems pricey but I am looking for something to build so I may pass on that one unless his price comes down.
It's all relative to what you want to do. I have a stock 5.8L serpentine set in my son's build with AC and air pump delete pullies. I moved the radiator forward 1" in order to keep the clutch fan. I think you could put a solid fan in and make it fit with a stock core support and radiator. The tensioner is kind of tall and we have 1" of body lift, but that's it. Sorry, I don't have a good picture but this kind of gives you the idea.
I'd pay extra to not have the yard pull the engine...but that's me. I needed an oil pan from a 460 in a van one time and the guy damn near ripped the van in half with a huge log loader type piece of equipment, damaging everything along the way including the pan. While somewhat disappointing at the time since I didn't get what I came for, it certainly was a hoot to watch.

OK, thanks. I have a 1" BL too so that would clear the tensioner? I don't want to move the radiator at all if I can help it. This would be a down the road project anyway but if I find a good deal on an engine I may pull the trigger on it.
