Can I run SS TSL/SX in a 35"x15.50/15 without wheels spacers?

Or, should I go to the 36"x12.50/15 TSL/SX or 36"x13.50 IROKs (bias) with 1" wheel spacers?

I want to get a little wider stance, but I can only go to 79". My trailer is only 79" wide and I'm 77" wide now.

exactly which tires are you thinking of craig? i do have a reason for asking.

Ben, I'm running the PJ Dirt Grips in 35x12.5/15 now. I want a more aggressive tire, like bias ply TSL/SX or IROK's. She's a trailer Queen now. I do very little street driving, so I'm not worried about mileage or noise anymore.

I'd like to go a couple inches wider. I can accomplish that with 1" spacers, but I thought a 15.5 tire might do the same thing.

i did some calculations, here goes.

the PJ's have 10.4" wide tread, and a 13.1" section width. the TSL-SX's have a 13.1" tread, and a 15.4" section. your tread will stick out .85" farther on each side, so that's a total of 1.7" wider at the tread. overall including sidewall, you're looking at being 2.3" wider.

with the IROK's, you'll be a total of 1.4" wider, but the overall tread width will only be 0.6" wider. you're only picking up 0.3" of extra tread width on each side. BTW, the 36" irok is actually 36.9" tall.

all measurements are here for the swampers;

Thanks for the data Ben! I think I'm going to run the IROK 36x13.5 with 1" wheel spacers. That should still fit on my trailer.
