You weren't kidding when you said you had looked into this. Sent him a PM since all his picture links were broken.

Yeah when your going through a big life change like I am and don't have extra money to spend and since its free to do research I spend a lot of time coming up with ideas and looking into them. Haven't explored this much either but here is a website dedicated to Ford Six's.

Here's another thread discussing the pro's and cons of I6 vs V8s not much help on the specifics of swapping in a 300 but more food for thought.

I still think that it would be a really cool swap regardless. If you decide to go with the 300 hope you start a full build thread I know I'd follow along to see how it goes :)

I've looked into putting a 300 EFI engine into a EB. There are a few models of F250's that actually had a 300 EFI with a ZF 5 speed. If you found one it would be an awesome donor vehicle to swap both engine and transmission at the same time. If you had a automatic and wanted a manual that is.

Anyway I never bought these so don't know if they are any good but there are a couple issues of Bronco Driver Magazine that deal with the 300. Issue 19 has an article titled "Installing a Ford 300ci 6 cylinder in an EB" and Issue 46 has an article titled "The Ford 300 Six - Upgrade Options" they might be helpful. It might take some extra work but think it would be a cool and unique to have an EB with a 300 and something I would seriously consider if I ever build a second EB, especially for a daily driver rig :)

Also check out this thread if you scroll down rjlougee put a 300 into his rig the links don't work anymore :( but might be able to touch base with him. Also check out this thread for more discussion about the 300 on the second page there is a link to some performance parts for the 300's

It can be done. http://www.coloradoclassicbroncos.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=222 Just don't give the keys to a teenager or you'll be replacing lots of parts.

... I too think the 300 cid is a great motor. I have a 1980 Big Bronco it has the NP435 behind it with 355's.. I put 385K on it . We towed my little camper to New Mexico & up into the mountains. One of the trips I had it really running good and I got 16 mpg pulling that camper.
... Sorry but I think it's really too long but if you do get it in there you'll love it.
.. Only my 4BT is better for the torque. But my 4BT is noisy.

I'm getting really close to doing this swap, I will have the engine back from the machine shop in the next few days. Bronco is prepped.
