After this oil change (already installed the Wix) I'm going to run them...

Paper filter element doesn't increase the weight of a filter by 3x over the next brand...wonder if the case on the Motorcraft Racing filter is that much heavier?

I might cut in 1/2 today, measure the gauge of the steel , save half in a zip lock and compare it to the Wix when I pull it. Be interesting to see...

Here's what the Ford Racing Website had to say about their filters...

"FORD PERFORMANCE HIGH PERFORMANCE OIL FILTERS
Synthetic-Polymer/Cellulose-Fiber blend media
Heavy gauge base and canister for higher burst strength and impulse fatigue resistance
High quality silicone anti-drain back valve
Non-stick sealing gasket for ease of installation and removal
Long life with standard and synthetic motor oils
Up to 50% more filtering capacity then standard filters
Improved filtering efficiency
This technology is only available through Ford Performance Parts.
MOTORCRAFT PART NUMBER PERFORMANCE FILTER PART NUMBER
FL1A CM-6731-FL1A"

I'll switch back to this filter when I change oil this winter... not many miles going on the Bronco until the new rear end is installed. Short hops around town is all... :(

$16.95 isn't cheap for a filter but since my 460 stroker starts up at 65psi every morning confidence that it won't blow apart is worth 10 bucks...

Motorcraft filters are made by purolator to Ford spec. Being a Baldwin filter dealer, I get insider "info" haha
I would run the Wix racing filters. All my friends run them on trophy trucks with dry sump set ups which can have pretty high pressures. Never heard of a single problem.

Yup, no direct flight this trip... Oahu for an hour...then a puddle jumper.

When we hit Oahu, it would be my honor to buy ya a beer but only if you pull up in your Bronco... ;D

Need to hunt down Honorio also... be fun unless you guys get sick of us mainlanders stopping by! lol
