I'm in the process of installing the 4r70w transmission/adapter/dana 20 assembly and need some help with the rubber bushings that mount the adapter to the crossmember. The bolts from my stock adapter are much larger than the holes in the 4r70w advance adapter.....am I supposed to enlarge the holes in the adapter or use smaller hardware? Also, is there a specific bushing set that can be purchased that fits better than the stock bushing set?

Please post some photos of how you accomplished this aspect of the conversion.

On my son's Bronco we used the smaller bolts and had to taper the bushings on the ends to fit. We used a bench grinder to taper them. Sorry don't have pictures and will not be home for 10 days to take any.

The AA adapter kit should have included smaller bolts and bushings to work with the stock bushings.

I did like JSBX. We ground one edge of the top washer to change the radius to fit the adapter and had to take a corner off the bushings to get all the holes to line up. And unfortunately the bolts they provide are smaller and I think came with another metal sleeve to go in the bushing. Sorry, no pictures

the aa adapter comes with the correct bolts and you will need to trim/taper the bushings. I used a miter saw, but that is sketchy. Put it in a vice and use the side grinder.
