Pull the OEM fitting out with a pair of pliers. With it out you can see daylight where the vent hole is through the rear of the transmission. Stuff a rag or similar in there. Drill/tap vent hole for 1/4 NPT fitting (1/8 NPT might work but I think it's a little sloppy). Use a little grease on the tap to help capture chips. Install 90° hose barb fitting for hose size of your choice, clock it in your favorite direction. Push on hose, terminate free end at location of your choice. In my case, a breather in the engine compartment that terminates all the gear cases on my Bronco. Done.
