I was wondering if a powersteering gear box from a 1976 f250 4x4 is the same as the 79 box, I got one free but, most tech articles say 78-79 box. Also would a steering box from a 1996 f250 work for the internals. Thanks Brad

While we are on this topic of 4x4x2 questions...

What is the spline count on the 4x4x2 and what is the spline count on the stock manual box?

And speaking of which, we got another new guy here. So welcome to CB.com there WILDSTALLION. That makes like four or five first-time posters here just tonight. Pretty good for a Sunday. Must be a holiday kind of thing. Hmm, or maybe it's a cold-night-in-Michigan kind of thing?
Hope you find all the answers you need here Brad. Good amount of experience and knowledge to pull from.

Good luck.

The WCB4x4 page is the 'bible' I used for my conversion. Comes in super handy.

Spend the time looking for the right 4x4 box and you'll be really happy. The other conversions (older long box, toyota) all seem to be a compromise. The 4x4x2 setup is almost like it was designed specifically for the EB.

Toyota box is super simple and easy to get if nothing else works for you. I've done three conversions with the toy box and it worked out really good.
