66-67 window regulator repair

Anyone know if there are replacement window shafts for the 66-67? I know the 67 take the screw through the top but they work for the 66 handles. All the replacement ones sold, do not stick out far enough to work for 66-67 handles. I tried an early falcon replacement one and the housing hits the door panel. I have good pass regulators that I can steal shafts from but would rather find replacement shafts. Attached are pics of my worn out one and the falcon one that did not work. Also, couple suppliers claim there complete window regulators work on 66-77 but they don't, only 68-77 handles fit.

Thanks
John

Thanks

I have good pass sides I can get parts from for myself. I was trying to help a friend and anyone else that had this problem. I ordered a f100 shaft today...I will post if it works.

Thanks
John

After lots of trial and error I figure how to get the new shaft installed. I first was trying to push it out the worn direction...then used a grinder...finally when I discovered how it was built and wasting a couple driver regulators I figured out the easiest way to do this. The Part I listed will only work on a 66 since there is no threads for 67 handles...Also Im assuming it will work since I don't have any handles currently, I can't test fit them? I'm not sure how to do this so I will post each step separately.

Thanks
John

take the part with the shaft and use a 3/4 deep socket add some heat and knock out or use a press...I did it both ways on a couple...note the direction it removes from...this is where I was making a mistake.

Now install new shaft and reassemble with rivets or whatever works for you. I haven't done that part yet.

Hopefully this save some people some time by avoiding my mistakes. Also, I hope the 66 handles fit...LOL! The 3/4 deep socket is the key and helps keep the part from to much deformation. If anyone finds any better or mistakes Im still making please comment.

Thanks
John

... Man you guys are a wealth of knowledge. I'd always been under the understanding the early Falcon part would interchange & along with the F100.

Heads up! The falcon part did not work for me...wasted my money on a set. I will hopefully sell them on EBay to recover a little cash back.

Thanks
John
