I had a little mishap in the driveway (looks like rear drum wheel cylinder blew) and I completely lost the ability to stop. Thankfully, this happened in the driveway and not on the street. My truck still has the stock brake system- '66 master cylinder with one resevoir and it's definitely time to upgrade to a dual resevoir Master cylinder so that in the event something like this happens again, I would have either front or rear brakes at least.

I have two questions:
A) Is there a M/C available that I can safely use for drum/drum and still use when I upgrade to disc/drum? Can someone tell me vehicle and year?

B) Will I need to get a proportioning valve to work with the dual res. set-up?

Funny, I need to do the same thing to my 66 - but I am waiting to do the front disk swap at the same time.

A) You should be able to use a stock 67-75 EB dual MC for the drum-drum setup AND use it when you upgrade to front disks. I have already done the chebby front disk upgrade to my 73 trail and after trying a couple other MCs (78 F250 Camper Specail for one) I went back to the stock one and removed the check valve from the front port. It works well on mine.

B) Using the stock MC you should not have to use a proportioning valve. But you will need to get an H-block set up for a dual reservoir MC.

You'll probably get several conflicting opinions on this!! :)

You can change no problem
Get the master for a later Bronco and plumb it in.
connect the line to the front brakes to the rear reservoir
connect the line to the rear brakes to the front reservoir
Bleed the brakes
Your good to go. An Hblock is nice but really not needed.
diagrams of the HBLock hookup are in any manual.

Dont need one. the Hblock is basically only for the idiot light on the dash telling you that your brakes are going out but you have to push the pedal down to get it to work and will have already figured that out. Even the Disc brake prop valves are not needed as the way they are hooked up in broncos they dont proportion anything they are basically just a Hblock with a extra port
