Weather still decent in Michigan for a bit longer. We'll have time for a cruise or 2 this year Beau. Once you get behind the wheel all will be good. ;D

True. Instead of rocking a wife beater I will be sporting a hoodie.
Really starting to get anxious about getting it out for its first ride. A lot of time effort and money , it's time to reap the rewards.

Boy, that looks great! Nice attention to detail. And well sorted. It's going to be hard for the U13 police to find anything to criticize.

No good news. In the past week I've gone backwards. Got news back on Friday from the engine builder and the block is cracked. I was told by him that it was magna flux and half tank and blah blah blah when I picked it up a few months ago and put it in the chassis. I just took him down another block that I got from tom at the broncoranch. I should know by Thursday if this replacement block is usable and hopefully have my new rebuilt motor back in a week or two.

That really stinks, I'm having a straight six rebuilt myself. Glad you were able to find a replacement block quickly. This is a nice build and looking forward to seeing it complete.

I am looking forward to it too. I won't kid you this setback with the engine is very frustrating and discouraging. I have a lot of time , effort and money into it and I am fully drained monetarily and emotionally. The biggest thing is my wife is also starting to give me shit about the amount of time spent on it and laughing and poking fun at me that it is not done. Also piling on about the time I spend working on it.

If it wasn't a 66' roadster I would have already ordered a 351 long block and moved on.....

Quick update. Took about a year to the day to get it on the road.I finally got the motor back and installed. Finished up some odds and ends.
I still need to finish a few items. The new sending unit for fuel gauge appears to be broke. Also need to reseal the thermostat neck as it leaks just a little.
I have put a whole 19 miles on it. If we get a nice day here soon I hope to put a few more test miles on it to break the motor in a bit and take some nice photos. Here are some iPhone shots I have taken.

Hoping to. It will depend on weather and trailer space. I would like to bring my other rig for the mountain rides and such.

I always look forward to updates on this build, looks great. Hate that you had to go backwards with the engine not being right but glad it is together and on the road now. Very clean resto.

Wow, awesome!!!!! Not to sidetrack this one, but how does the spare tire carrier work? I need to get a spare and get it mounted, did not know behind the seat was an option?

Thank You
