66 VIN Question

All,

I purchased a truck with the following VIN number U14FLB26329 which decodes to a 76, but the truck is clearly a early model with the bolt on windshield and the kick panel vin matches and appears to have not been removed.

If I put the VIN in as U14FL826329 it does decode to a 66.

Any thoughts as it does look like a B not an 8.

67' started with A, so it could still be a B, and still would have had the kick panel warranty plate. Does it have forward facing rear shocks? What do the dash control knobs look like?
Any pics? There weren't any 76' u14.

My 67 vin tag said U15NLB13063

FRAME said the same , but in 67 is the B more an 8 on the vin tag?

It comes up a 76 body and frame. Not sure how or why?
289, Dana30, 9", C4, T shift, rear shocks on front side, 67 doors, 67 dash.
I have pics, but not sure how to post.

The B was used for '67 and '76. Will be a totally different engine code for the two years, as only the 170 (F) or 289 (N) was available in '67 and the 302 (G) was the only option in '76.

tk1218, you have either a late '66 or mid-late '67, depending on if its a 8 or a B.

Here are some pics of the U14. I actually have 2 of them and I think they are both 1967s.

The 3rd pic is of the front frame on the right side by the bumper bolt. Is this the part number for the frame?

Thanks

Not 66 and looks 67 from everything I can see there. The one with side trim possibly a sport :)

What decoder did you use?
