Trying to figure out the top bushing sequence and size.
Slow going, but got the shocks and body back on the frame.
I see you have them together, so got that figured out. But some details you might not have known, or found out on the run so to speak.
The shock boots usually have a slot at the top, basically the double-lip of the top opening, that will fit around that white collar at the top of the shaft, just below the bushings.
The top stem bushings come in two flavors usually. One has a thin lip, while the other has a wide lip. Which one you use depends on the side of the hole in the mounting bracket. If it's a big hole, you get the wide lip. Small hole, thin lip.
There are certainly variations in overall thickness, and even in how deep the lips extend, but the two basic sizes are relatively consistent.
In the old days of only rubber bushings they were laid out so that as you tightened the nut and the bushings started to squeeze out, you stopped when the rubber had just squished barely past the diameter of the washers.
With polyurethane however, and multiple and inconsistent manufacturers, that rule kind of went out the window with everything else.
Now there may still be a specification by some, but it's best to follow the bushing manufacturer's recommendations. Or the shock manufacturer, if the bushings were supplied.
