I bought this rig in December 2019 thanks to ClassicBronco.com and my new friend Tim. After some research and many phone conversations with Tim, I flew to Patterson, Louisiana to have a look at my future family member. There were others that I looked at but the build sheet on this one let me know this was the one. The build sheet date is my birthday!

So with the COVID-19 shutting down the world, I figure there's no better time than the present to start the build. I will update the progress over the next year or so, but today I will start stripping her down.

Here are some starter pics.

So spent the day doing more investigating and removal. Like all the old Wasp nest I discovered. Oh an the large Black Widow that was in my driver's side caliper!

More tomorrow.

Here are some pics from today's work.

Hey Murdador,

Still working that out in my mind but for starts, I'm taking her down to the bare frame and to stay with the social distancing and seeing the sandblaster is closed I plan to wire wheel the entire frame. I also need to figure out how to go about cleaning the inside of the frame and deal with any internal dirt and or rust.

What I do know is I'm planning on doing 2.5 lift, Blueprint 306 crate motor, 4R70W transmission, Four-wheel disc with Hydrobosst and rebuild the Dana44, Dane 20 and the 9" rear-end with truetrac's.

So today was a little slower than I was hoping for as I got sidetracked with researching my flat top knuckles that are in a separate post listed below. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jim Creel of Wild Horses' fame. Jim had reached out to me on the post I did, which in doing so has given a better understanding of what I'm working with and how I should proceed in determining whether to restore the knuckles and keep the setup or move in a different direction.

I will say that Jim Creel and the Wild Horses crew now have a customer for life! To reach out to me about my build based on a post he saw on here speaks volumes to his character. I've heard great things about the team over at Wild Horses but that call was the personal touch that put them in the #1 spot with me. So thank you, Jim, for taking the time to speak with me today! I will most definitely keep that post going as I learn more.

So finished stripping out the interior tub of the Brake Pedal Assembly, Accelerator Pedal Assembly, Heater Box & Blower Motor, Firewall Insulator, and a few other things on the engine, so all in all, not a bad day.

Tomorrow I will start removing the chassis wiring and drive shafts and hopefully the Dana 20.

Stay tuned for more updates!

I have more questions than answers.
While I haven't tried it yet. For cleaning inside the frame, after the initial cleaning of the inside with a pressure washer I was going to put one of my chimney cleaning brush's on a drill and give it a try.

So driveshafts are now out along with the Dana 20 and the wiring to the taillights. Tomorrow or Sunday I will start the build of the tub dolly and would hope to pull the tub off the frame early to mid next week.

Stay safe everyone!

So today I started building the dolly for my tub. Pretty straight forward but didn't finish as I had some other things I needed to get done first.

More tomorrow.
