69 paint code H?

Was looking @ the vin tag in my glovebox. Last part of the vin# was E13655 so I know my truck is a 69. Anyways, the paint code is "H" and I see no H paint color for 1969. 1966 has a paint code H for Sahara Beige and I saw a paint code H in 73 and 74 model years for Medium Beige. Should I ASSSSSSSUME that my truck was factory Beige? But, I replaced the dash and saw behind it and it looked Orange. That is not a color for 1969 either but who cares since I just painted the truck Orange. Could the paint code H (Beige) have been a special order paint from the factory by the original owner?

1969 H = Cordova

Kind of a brown/orange/copper color. This was a 1 year only color.

It looks a lot better buffed and waxed than faded.
Good paint info

My 69 also has a paint code H, I couldn't find it either but under my dash floors and some places under hood was that orange, my doors are white though

I've been searching for a pic of a bronco in that color anyone know of one?

My 69 sport also has the side mount to latch the tire carrier to the right fender. What was the purpose for that side mount?

So you could latch the spare tire carrier with the tailgate down. Called the "Ranch Hand".

the Ranch Hand, huh? Ya learn something new everyday. My '69 has it the back. To me it looks better in the back, but I gotta admit this would be much more practical

The ones that had the Ranch Hand had both latches. This way you could have it in the normal location, or could swing it out if using the rear of the Bronco. You had your choice of where it could go. Pretty neat.

Example (not mine):

I went through the same research a few months ago with paint code H on my '76. I was told it was medium copper ( I think, I could be mis-remembering) but the inside of doors, dash and under dash are definitely orange.

Color code H for a '76 is Copper, but it does resemble orange.

The other component of the tailgate-down-while-driving thing is the flip-up license plate holder. So the tags can be displayed properly while driving around with a load in the back, or whatever.
