I've got a two-piece steering shaft and I noticed some slop when I was going through and inspecting things with the engine out recently. The truck steers great, but this radial slop obviously isn't supposed to be there. It's in the upper shaft, where the shaft goes into the firewall, just after the rag joint. Here's a video
You'll likely notice a hexagonal nut that's just flopping there. I'm assuming that's supposed to be up in the assembly, taking up this slop, but it's not clear from the few diagrams I've found (is this the best one? The links on TBP seem to be broken).
Should I be taking this apart and fixing right away, or is it safe to run in this condition? Any info you have for me is appreciated!
