• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Little more information that ya'll find pertinent. I talked to the seller on Thursday evening.

Motor is long gone.
Transmission is long gone.
Transfer Case is long gone.
Driveshaft is long gone.

They were dumped because they were "tired."

The hood is long gone.
There's no top.

It's sat outside since 1981. He said he tarped it every time there was weather.

He said that the body is "perfect."

He said that the $5500 asking price is a good price because all you have to do is sand it down, paint it, drop in a motor and drive train, and it will be "worth $35,000."

I said that right now, there are all kinds of really nice done done done Broncos being sold for $11,000 to $15,000. He was unfazed.

He said it's been a project of his since 1981 but the only work it looks like he did was removing the entire drivetrain.

He also said that wasnt a problem because I could get something "more fuel efficient" than the old 302.

Yeah.

it amazes me sellers seem to always give that "all it needs is x&y and it'll bring $$$$K" ......so why dont you dump the $ in it and find out for yourself.

yeah, all it needs is about $20k in resto (+veh cost) and you can sell it for $11k.

WOW, my budget is around 6K to get it running (including purchase price and registration) then it will need interior, paint and top. I guess I can justify all this by having the wet dream that I will eventually fetch 30K from it. LOL

I plan to build it, and drive it/fix it/ upgrade it for ever.....

Looks like the steering box is orange. I wonder if Stroppe did that (orange box) to all the Broncos he modified, or only the Baja Editions?

All or most. this one is not a Baja. I also bought parts from an LA-based Bronco shop that included a PS set up and 4speed set up from a Bronco they parted out in the early 90s. It too had an orange box.
