WOW it's been 2 months without an update! I've officially renamed my project to Project Slug.
Got quite a bit of work done in the last 2 months. Almost done with pass side pan replacement. Just gotta move the seams a little bit more and then will start welding
Today finishes the passenger side work for now.
Finished putting the outer rocker in and got the body lines where I want them and finished welding and grinding the pans in place.
Started tearing apart the driver side floor today!
It's really cool to see the progress that i've already made so far! Can't wait to get the rest of the pans in and then prep for primer!
Anyways moar pics of yesterdays progress and todays work.
Another long over due update! I think you'll guys like this!
BOOM! Fender Flares!!!
As for other updates...
I cut out pretty much half of the bottom of the tailgate and patched it with new metal. Getting the groove to match was a bit of a challenge but i got it to look brand new after much bending and messing with it! Its been Por15'd on the inside and has etching primer on the outside and is waiting for paint and assembly!
Got a little work done today. Put the tail gate on to check to see my lines match up with the fenders and they match up perfectly. I also decided to alter the look of the fenders just a little bit. I'm thinking about making the tops a little bit flatter and making the sides have a little bit of flatness to them. I'm trying to get them to mimic the looks of the bottom of the rear fender. I'll post pics of said updates tomorrow!
The rear flares are done with the roll and all! Didn't weld in a round strip on these flares but instead rolled the edge around with an English roller.
It's getting so close to primer and undercoating I can smell it! Hopefully within the next few weeks if everything keeps going smoothly.
Also going to be starting on a custom bumper soon. Plate style bottom with a pre-runner bar for lights to mount onto.
Indeed! I've learned so much from watching him and I've helped out a lot more than i thought. Heck I might give it a try on my own when I get working on the 69 in the far off future!
I also need to get a hold of some 12.50's to put on here! the flares don't look as mean when they stick out 3 inches past the edge of the tires!!! ;D
