I bet it's done by this time next year. You got too much "ants in your pants" to let it take that long.......

Cool. What a fast teardown. I'd be surprised if those braces were original. Mine is a manual as well. I debated the floor shifter too, but ultimately went back to the original setup, 3 on the tree.

A little update.

Well gotta a little work done this week/weekend.

Floors almost done. Had to replace both kick panels. Custom made the edge trim pieces to mimic factory. Looks pretty good. Once it's all welded up and sealed it will look just like factory.

But I have a mint parchment mat to cover all this nice work up. How sad......

A little closer. Finished up the front pans. Started 1 of 4 on the rear bed (need to replace all 4 corners).

Pass door post and pass front inner wheel tub following this. Hopefully that will be all the sheet metal work. Ohh and 2 new doors

Had summer shutdown at the plant so haven't got much done recently.

Stopped by Graveyard and spent some serious coin...loaded up the car twice with 95% of all the parts I need.
Got my slots mounted on some 31" wrangler duratracs
Assembled my new hoist to pull my engine
Picked up my new favorite tool. Plasma cutter. Fricken sweet. Love it. Gonna make future sheet metal work much easier on me.
Cut out my rear quarter and replaced ( ready to weld in). Gotta tweak a bit at the bottom rear, like all these damn aftermarket parts.
Installed front wheel well
Engine tore down ready to pull

Door post in and welded up.
Have to complete a couple small bits ( cut gas and side light holes in new quarter, cut quarter for flares).
Couple spots on the rear wheel well
Painter scheduled for mid August, engine, trans getting done at the same time.

On a side note my baby roadster left for Cali today. Gonna miss her. Daughter and I said goodbye. All is well in the end. Just a car and we decided it was time for her to go. Just memories now. That is horrible Rich. You should leave the floors bare so you can admire all that beautiful hard work...
Oh, and I will take that nasty vinyl mat from you too... ;D

Just saw this - Congrats Rich!

Excited to follow the progress,... & hope to learn a thing or two.

Didn't know you were getting rid of the roadster - is it going to auction?,... Already sold?

Cheers!

Actually wasn't really planning on selling it. So yes is sold. A couple in Cali made a generous offer and the wife and I discussed and decided it was time to let her go. I enjoyed bringing her back to her original beauty and my daughter really loved it. We just had to be very delicate with her....kind of hard with 7-9 year olds crawling all over it going to get ice cream, etc. So we decided to let her go. Family wants to do a half cab next so I have one on ice awaiting the completion of this Baja.

There will probably be another roadster in my future. Some day..

Well,... the couple in California are lucky to acquire such a nice roadster,...

,... And I'm sure your daughter will see lots of great Broncos in her future

Finally - I'm excited to watch your renovation of the Stroppe.

Cheers!
