Did you figure it out? If not can we get as much information as you can provide describing the situation? Are we talking Manual or automatic? Column or floor shift? Is the shifter unable to move or does the shifter move but the Bronco stays in neutral? Have you removed the shifter boot or crawled under it while someone else moves the shifter to see if the linkage is loose or disconnected? What lever was used to put the Bronco in neutral?

If park works, you have a transmission issue.
If it rolls in park, transfer case getting bumped into neutral is super common. There have been people who have had the transmission rebuilt because they though the transmission was bad when it was in neutral.
Also shift linkage, but most people will feel this being wrong and already know to look there. The collar on the shifter (pot metal breaking) is common a well as the rubber bushings on the rods falling apart letting the rod fall out.

Manual transmission has other options, but transfer case in neutral is super common.

Being it was just pushed into the driveway, whoever was helping you push probably looked at the first shifter they saw (transfer case) and wiggled that into neutral so it would roll.
