Built a custom console (well two consoles).
Sorry about the picture orientation, no idea how to fix that.

Thanks Scoop.
Not planning to shorten the rear bumper, I think it looks fine; the front, in my view, was just too long.
I did shave the bumper bolts on the rear.

Agree, the rear is not too bad as is. I debated on the rear and then took 1 1/2" off each side. Almost not noticeable. Huge improvement to the front though.

Any pics on how you built the front console? Does it bolt to the bottom of the dash? I like how it matches the look of the dash. Did you make it out of an old dash?

It’s been awhile since I updated this thread...
Rather than post all the work - here’s where I’m at.

Pretty much done - picture’s without and with stripe.

The old motor had too many leaks and a new roller motor was in order.

Pulled the old and cleaned up engine bay.
Debated about original blue or satin back - I like the contrast, went with black.

Decided to use original battery space for Air Intake box, so relocated the battery to the frame under the passenger seat.

Modified battery holder.

I’ll definitely be at May it Forward. I may even have the tailgate I got from you finished.

The motor’s in, now the small things (right) - wiring, fuel system and exhaust.

Motor’s in and the small things are done. Need to pull the trans and check it out (don’t ask).

Slight concern about the battery taking a hit with debris/rocks...I plan to built a box to protect it. I wanted it out of the engine bay and under the truck was a good location. I’ve seen and done it with hot rods (they’re typically not off-road vehicles).
