Does anyone have the NAPA part number for the replacement Ujoint on the lower steering column of a stock 76 with power steering? Mine has seen better days...

Thanks!

Call Duffs or Wildhorses... They have what you need. I've never found the joints locally.

Thanks. I've found some lower steering column shafts and complete joint assemblies from the vendor sites, but what I'm looking for is simply the part number for the spider so I can rebuild my stock lower shaft.

Be interested to hear what you find Jeff. Don't think I've seen that exact part available for quite awhile. Of course, with all the fancy schmancy stuff we sell I have not really looked either.
We do have the Dana/Spicer alternatives, but still not quite the same as what you're wanting.

76/77 joints are not servicable as far as I know. You can disassemble the 73-75 u-joints and replace the center joint, but there is no way to disassemble the 76/77 one. As far as I know the only option is to cut the stock joint off and replace it with a spicer, flaming river, or equivalent.

Alternately, WH sells a complete lower telescoping piece that you can use to replace the slip portion of the stock shaft

i'm pretty sure you can use pto shaft parts. you get the right size yokes and weld them to the shafts with a slip n stub set up if you give me the diameter of the shaft itself i can send you a complete head assembly and you can cut whatever length you need to and weld it in yourself

Some things have been researched time and time again... I didn't find any light at the end of the tunnel. $75 later I welded on a new joint assembly that slides on the gearbox as designed. And... I don't buy anything! Lol
