hey guys,
I have an opportunity to pick up a strong running 5.0 out of a 91 mustang with the harness and computer. Question is can I drop this in my '70, bolt on a 50oz flywheel and run it? I would swap in my front dress as that is all new and want to avoid changing the radiator/hoses out to reverse rotation.
or
Pick up the motor and just use the roller block and all my accessories.

Thanks!

Mostly, but the front dress is more difficult than that. The 5.0 has a 4-bolt crank pulley and the original Bronco is 3-bolt. Not a matter of drilling new holes, the offset is different as well. And you did catch the imbalance change with the flywheel, well the same thing applies to the crank damper. The '70 is the wrong balance for the '91.

If you have a stick, count on needing to the clutch pivot bracket adaptor.

yea as was planning on using the front balancer of the '91 unless that won't work with the '70 timing cover. I can get a 4 bolt pulley for the crank.
Thinking I may leave the '91 front complete with it's serp setup. It has AC. Can that be removed and a shorter belt put on or is it just disconnected?

There's a summit brand dampener for $80 that has both 3 and 4 bolt patterns and comes with spacers that will work with most setups, vbelt or serpentine. I have a5.0 with and it worked out perfect with v belt pulleys
