Thanks, we built the cage.... we canted the outer hoops in about 3 degrees and when we went to full weld it we didnt realize the outer hoops were flipped so instead of canting in, it canted out and rubbed in places i didnt want it to. Havent done another cage yet, other stuff has been goin on.

almost a year since my last post here... it seems some of my pics have disappeared, perhaps a hosting issue, so sorry about that.... ill try and give you the cliff notes since i was last here.

it has been running, and i blew up the last tranny. I bought a Craigslist AOD and blew that too. I had the guy that sold me the aod look at my setup and he asked me what flextplate i had and it immediately clicked. in the midst of all the partsbuying and fabing shit up, we never actually bought and changed the flexplate, and it still had the C6 flexplate bolted to it.

SO... I was thoroughly frustrated with it, and I offered the dude some cash to put it all back together for me with the correct flexplate in the mix and picked it up in a couple weeks.

Since then Ive been driving it to and from work, a 40 mile or so round trip commute with a mix of freeway and backroads.... I have tightened up the steering and decided to do some mods under there after i decide what lift and tire size i want.

I have had a whiny t case from the get go, we figured it was a bad bearing, this last week i drove it to work and it was making a horrible noise, so we pulled it this weekend and are in the process of swapping in another.

Same day i drove it to work, i came out of work to go home and found a puddle of coolant in the floorboard, funny thing is, i had just bought a heater core earlier this month because i was going to do a heater upgrade and reseal the box.

finishing that up tonight....

the upgrade is from an early 80's F series blower motor and cage.

anyway, ive put about a thousand miles on it, steering is kind of screwy, although in the midst of all this wrenchin we managed to get out the steering column as well and have found the culprit. It seems we need to build some kind of retention for the bushing in the steering column, because it fell out and contributed to the problem.

see ya in a year.... lol
