A plug for EFI Guy (Garry)

Things have been a little crazy around these parts getting ready for the move across country, but I wanted to take a second to plug the services of EFI Guy. After the recent Explorer swap, Garry's probably got more telephone consult hours with me than most Dell call center employees spend in a normal week! He did my harness, flashed the PCM (both of them, but that's another story), and where most peoples' responsibility would end there, that's where he set himself apart, and by a mile. Through a series of issues, each one only unveiling another, he walked me through computer functionality and the basics of the EDIS system. After fuel pressure issues, starter wiring issues, coil pack issues, relay issues, exhaust issues, O2 sensor issues, spark plug issues, fuel trim issues... you name it...The Bronco is alive and running great. I can't stress enough how awesome it was to have him on the other end of the phone the whole time. I highly recommend his service, beyond the great work he does on the harness and computer, he really knows his stuff and didn't mind taking the extra few minutes to explain what I was seeing through the troubleshooting and why. Thanks to him and Viperwolf's insight on a few wiring issues, I was able to put 50-60 miles on the rig this weekend. Probably the last real driving I'll get to do until it shows up on a transport truck in Seattle in April-May, but it's a load off my mind knowing that it's running and driving when I head north and have to leave it behind for a few months.

Thanks for the kind words Joel ! It means a lot!

I really don't mind helping anyone with their EFI issues. It's really more of a hobby for me than a business. I enjoy the challenge of diagnosing EFI related problems, it's like crossword puzzles for me.

That being said, let's hope nobody else ever has as many small issues piled together as you did.;)

Thanks again for the feedback, I'm glad it's finally running well for you. Keep me posted on how it does long-term as well.

Great to hear you got it running the way it's supposed to. Garry has always been available for me when I had questions on how to configure the harness. When I fired mine up for the first time, he was the first call I made. I haven't had any issues since it's been together, I guess I should just give him a call to say hi.

Are you still redoing the explorer harnesses? If so, I would like to have one redone.

Yes, Garry is still doing harnesses... He is about 4 months out (I sent him another harness in late December)

You should make contact with him and/or review his posts in regards to all the parts he needs from you.

Another thing he appreciates is the removal of the tape and most of the wire loom around the stock harness. It is a sucky job to say the least...

I am working on my 3rd Explorer conversion and Garry is the go to guy. I cannot say enough positive things about the work he does for us.

Maybe some day he will find the time to work on his own Bronco? %);D

Nothing but great things to say about Garry. Always pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable. Thinking EFI? Definitely consider checking out E.D.I.S. thru Garry!

Garry is the man! He worked my harness for me for my Explorer swap . I had it running in the truck since last spring. As many has said his work is top notch. I was running a C4 and it ran good but I wanted a OD Trans and get back to banging gears. So recently I installed a AX15. First test drive truck ran as expected. But as I drove it more and it started falling on its face at 3500 rpm . Im thinking a tuning issue. So Saturday night I emailed Garry to talk to him about it . He emailed right back and after treading a few emails he suggested it may be a fuel delivery problem. This got me thinking back when I installed my in the tank fuel pump. The pump seemed to sit right on the bottom of the tank when I bolted it in. So yesterday I dropped the tank and took some measurements. There was no clearance from the bottom of the tank to the bottom of the pump. I shorted the pump a little. Took it for a good drive and gave it a good beating. Did great hopefully it solved the problem. Without Garry’s support who knows what direction I would be chasing that problem. For all you wanting to go EFI guys ..... Garry is the man.

I'll jump in on this also with an "at-a-boy" (man) for Garry also. I sent him my '90 Mustang computer to give it a look see and he came through for me. Turns out the computer was a fairly rare one with some extra "can does" available and he knew how to make it work. He also deleted things like EGR, VSS, etc., changed out on capacitor and repaired a questionable section of the board.
He came highly recommended from a friend and now I know why.

Gary does not sleep and some how still stays composed with computer idiots like myself. He’s in the process of tuning my 427 and a buddy’s 408. Come to find out I had the wrong O2 sensors and it’s looking like my buddy’s computer is not up to par. I’ll be data logging today....pretty excited to see where we end up.
Here’s the projects

some seriously nice rigs there! Totally jealous of stroker power. Garry really woke up my 351, can't imagine how a 408 (and more) will react to Garry's magic.
