Accelerator pump issues.

I just put a new carb on and the accelerator pump is really stiff. The spring on the throttle linkage is not even close to strong enough to press it. Is there a way to fix this? It's causing the engine to bog pretty badly when I press the gas and it will work just fine if I press the throttle and pump at the same time.

I can look in a second it's the factory replacement that o'reileys sells. It's a rebuilt carb my bad should've been more clear. I should also add that this is the second one I've gotten from them. I was mad that it didn't work perfect so I warrantied the first one. And now I've got the same problem.

Hes has a 2100.
While the right way to fix the issue would be to dissassemble the carb and see if you can get the spring wound around one more time to increase the tension. You may be able to do it without disassembling the carb but I've never tried.
The other thing Ive seen done is to install a small screw through both the throttle linkage and the accellerator pump Linkage so they both move together all the time. I got a carb that had that done to it. Seem to work just fine.

Can you give me the details on the carb you got? I am considering a 2-barrel and wanted to have insider info from someone who purchased an Oreilly one. Post pics, p/n and any info if you could. Thanks.

Yeah no problem. It's just the factory replacement they sell for the 2100. I took a picture of the part number they used to look it up. I think it was around $240 after tax and all.
