Column... 76 column that I got off ebay awhile ago. Tore it down to sand and paint it and replace the bearings... I saved all parts from taking it apart.. My question is.. What spring should go under the shift lever that you pull down to shift, in the shift colar. And, is there something that should hold the gear you select?? I can move mine from any position to any postion with out having to need to pull on the shift lever.

ATM is torn apart and looking at it I am either A. Missing a key part to do this or B. have the wrong part maybe? Everything works perfect just doesnt hold or lock in gears . Nothing catchs it from braking the needle off either.

Ive checked JBGs diagram and it shows some part maybe in there with no name!

I love pictures if any of ya have any of this area. Or a better diagram.

Thanks.

All I needed was a 4.00 bushing for my c-4 and since the shipping was so high, I ordered a few more things that I needed but didn't want to spend the money on right now (I did anyway though). Good luck with your column. I am doing the same thing (installing a 76 auto column) in my 74 next week when I get my new lower shaft.
