Hotwheels- Firstly, you aint supplied any pics in days; get off your ass!

Secondly, Karma is a mean thing...I say no to the $365. But!!! Leave him note detailing your verbal agreement...$200: toss in the $50 for sandblasting, since it looks good and your are now happy...split the difference on the remaining $115...okay $300 even. Explain why, if he calls and complains, restate your case and tell him tough doody! The last thing you want is people out there who are really mad at you especially when they know what you drive....just a thought...especially as your just finishing your labor of love. Its one of the things I think about when I tear around in my bronco...not many of these around, especially in my color (drk cherry/faded to almost a burgundy brown)...pretty easy to spot the next time or describe to the proper authorities.

Back in grad school (long, long ago), in BHM, I came out to the Bronco to go to the lab one morning and some asshole had sliced one of my new tires...from now on I either play nice or leave no witnesses!

What I would do is what ever I gave my word to. if its 200 ok if you told him 200 + 50 for sand blasting then do so if you stated that you didn't like the price of 365 but agreed to pay it then pay it now it may seem like a trivial point in dealing with scum but at least you word is true. Money comes and goes self respect percieved by you and others that care are all you have. What ever you do make sure you pay by cashiers check and keep a copy in a safe place. put the check on his dash in full view hoping someone smashes his window and takes it at the very least lock the keys in the truck on top of the check and take a picture to prove you complied with his wishes. now if your too good to do this at least snap off his keys in his door lock after you give him his check if you pay in full. that'll at least cost him ill gotten gains. By the way did you get the left over materials returned. nice to know he's celebrating making his boat payment by going fishing. ask to go with him and then stand him up blowing his whole morning. since he only did labor why the sales tax?

I like Rusty's answer up to the point where you snap off the key in the lock. It all made perfect sense up to that point. %) Don't do any revenge, you can walk away clean with nothing bugging your consience, peace of mind is important. I could wallpaper my entire office with the the names of people who let me down. Just because he doesn't keep his word doesn't mean you should compromise your own moral judgement and stoop to his level. 175.00 more if you agreed to it after the fact is not worth getting sh*tty over.

revenge does nothing for you. You can rest assured his rep is low already and sinking.
How about that old saying, "the best revenge, is to get a life and forget it" !
By the way Mick do you still need those gromets?

I was half-way through the post when I noticed the RED-FLAG........CHRISTIAN!!!!

Whenever I deal with christian people in business I always remember one thing. Being a Christian is expensive....Sunday clothes, tithes, and all that jazz.

Being saved doesn't come cheap!

Mick,
when he called to jack up the price, did you you say OK, or did you say NO? It sounds to me like you should have made a decision then, not now.

I'm not defending the creep. I've said it before and I'l say it again: All body shop guys are flakes, excluding any who are members here.

Once again, Hotwheels, you tease, you keep us in a state of anticipation....no pics, no details on your final decision, no Law and Order SVU episode modeled after this harrowing escapade.... Come on man, whats going on up there.

I hate to draw any flames, here or in the after-life, but when someone states that they are a CHRISTIAN--beware. I have seen/witnessed more nasty/mean/hateful/evil things said/done/intended by those who claim to be a follower of Christ than by any other group or creed. Sometimes, i think people tell/say that others to disarm them and instill a sense of goodness/trustworthiness only to set up another party. The best way to demonstrate to someone who/what you are is by your actions and word, not by your BS. Some of the biggest hippocrits, racists, adulterers, and politicians claim to be CHRISTIAN. Sorry the politician part was redundant with the rest of it...heh heh heh...no, seriously. Anyhow, what did you say to him when he called and what did you finally do, Hotwheels? $300 would have been high, but fair if your were happy with the final product...he can eat the rest, definitely get your materials back.

I see no problem paying $250, it seems like a fair exchange.. If he is providing an invoice/reveipt then I would pay the sales tax as well.

See...I told you about the Christians!

More people have died in the name of GOD than for any other cause in the history of the world! Hell, the Christian missionaries used to starve my people for not converting!!!

They are evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
