What makes this difficult is that he is actually a Christian church member so I trusted him at his word. Actually thought about going to the pastuer for help settling this matter.

Man, Im sorry that turned out that way. I want to apologize for him and his actions. I am a Christian myself and he doesnt represent the Lord I serve! You should bring that to his attention and tell him that he quoted you a certain price and he should keep his word! Let me know if theres anything I can do! Ill give him a call myself!;D By the way, lets see some more pics of the progress!;)

Taking not knowing what your panels looked like into account, $365 with no materials cost does sound pretty steep. Labor rate at the shop I work is $38 for paint labor. Personally I wished you were alot closer to me. 2 pieces to paint, you provide the paint, for $200. You'd have them the next day, a little longer if you wanted them flamed. ;D

I'll tell you what. Did you tell him MAACO would paint a whole car for that. What you do is pick up the parts, go back the next day and complain. It doesn't match ! Make him paint it over and over and over ;D . When he gets to the point he has to buy more paint out of his pocket because he WASTED all of yours, then he might understand ;)

That really sucks, sorry to hear it. I have learned my lesson also, I got burnt quite a few times trusting people to do things on the side. It has come to the point now, that I only go through a family friend's auto shop for everything. Sandblasting, powder-coating, anything they can't do, I have them recommend someone and I let them take it there. That way it's business owner against business owner and I always come out on top. You've gotta find a friend in the business that knows a lot of people.

Mick you have been too nice, I watched the prick at the line X place lie through his teeth and now this. It is of my opinion to call the dweeb at line X and tell him you are speadin the word and when you finally get your parts back tell him (bridgewater) the same will happen to him if he does not make it right. We all know how fast poor reputations travel. Remember the voucher I got because of stupid Airline employees? Mick you deserve the same.
Mick you are a nice guy, and you would never treat somone like this, so why would you want to let someone do this to you?
There is (was) a wheel refinisher here local that could not get work after this kinda BS, poof! no shop!

Here goes,

Jack said origainally the cost would be $200 and have it done last Friday. He failed. He called me Thurs to say it would be $365. I said "that is rediculous and not what we agreed on". I suplied all paint and clear coat. Items were already prepped for painting. He removed the old paint from my dash with a sand blaster ($50). He said he had to work overtime on Friday to get it done (HHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!). It is his shop!!

Monday I aggreed to let him keep it til 23rd so I can have a friend with a pick-up help me get them. Thanx Jesse! Jack calls says he cannot be there Friday...going fishin!!!

This is the kicker: He puts my parts in his van outside in plain site from anyone walking by. Give me the key and says to drop off the money.

option:

1) Pick up parts (obviuosly)

2) Pay the agreed $200

3) Pay the $200 + $50 for sandlasting + tax

4) Pay $365 tax included.

5) Grab my crap pay nothing and never look back!!!

What to do, what to do?

?:?

3. since he did a good job, but don't let him paint your rig is this is how he is going to treat you. i mean, obviously he cares more about fishing than his customers, he must not need good word and new people coming round.

Thats $1500 NOW but when you pick it up it will probably be the same old story ... $3500 because I had to work overtime ;)

I say leave him a pile of dog shi% on the seat of his van with his $200 under it ! ;D

To make matters worse. He did this the day after seeing our other vehicle. 2003 Thunderbird Convertible. His Jaw litterally dropped.

It was obvious he had to drink to get the courage to call and Jack up the price.

I really hate when u can see thru people...he should at least be more convincing.

Id say pay what you agreed upon + the sandblasting, then never deal with him ever again. He will pull the exact same stunt! Your a nice guy and you dont deserve to be treated like that! Your word should be your bond and your only keeping him honest! We want to see some pics asap!;D

I say give the AGREED upon $200 bucks, take your parts. If he doesn't like it tell him he needs to do a better job quoting prices, or at least call you and let you know.

%)

unless ya told him to, or he asked B-4 he did it, screw the $50.00 for sandblasting!

Leave 2 $100.00 bills and a note say'n "Here is the $200.00 you said you'd do the job for, and sence there was no contract be happy with what you said you'd do it for the 1st time around."

;D Heck, yer a nice guy for pay'n him at-all after pull'n that crap... law says that w/out a contract nobody MUST pay anything... just the verbal agreement, which you'd be honoring!
