There is another source of gears, as low as 4.86. I forget the name. But for the price of those gears you should just get an Atlas.

From an older thread:

I talked to Jack at length one day ( it's impossible to have a short conversation with Jack). He is a metallurgist by trade, and has an impressive list of credentials and work experience. His gears, although close to double the cost of other gears, are made by a completely different process, and are much stronger. His gears are available in several different ratios, not just the Jeapeater gears that several of the vendors used to sell.

He not only makes gears for the Dana20, but just about everything else. He has a couple different detent spring strengths, and will rebuild shift forks. He claims he can make a Dana20 that's as strong as an Atlas t-case.

He has no web site, and does no advertising. Give him a call or try the email address.

I saw mentioned elsewhere that his health may not be so good.

Here is a quick and easy gear check chart. U can see what gear u have by matching engine rpm with tire size and then go from there to decide what gear u wanna use.

I run 5.13 with 34'' tires on the trail rig. No problems at all.
